The construction work of the information technology park at Gannavaram, is going on in full scale. Out of five towers, the first tower will be completed by December. The project is taking shape as promised by Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, while laying foundation stone on May 6, 2006.
“We will set up an IT park here on the lines of Hitech City at Gacchibowli with Rs 350 crores,” he had said during the foundation programme. APIIC and L&T are jointly involved in the project.
The work met several hiccups and was delayed due to clearance hurdles from the Airport Authority of India as the project site is close to Gannnavaram airport.
According to the design of the IT park, L&T is constructing five towers. The first tower will be completed by this year-end.
The chief operating officer of L&T, Mr Udaya Bhaskar, said each tower will take one year to build.
