With the T-issue taking centrestage, GO 610 is back in the reckoning. The state government is all set to request the Centre to amend the Presidential Order to extend GO 610 to universities and APSRTC. Both the organisations have over two lakh employees.
So far 17,648 employees have been identified for repatriation to their respective zones while 8,716 employees have already been repatriated. Employees in school education, engineer-in-chief (Panchayat Raj department), health and family welfare and Ayush are currently under scrutiny.
Since the current Presidential Order of 1975 doesn’t include the APSRTC and the universities, the state government decided to request the Centre to amend the order.
The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, took this decision on Wednesday in an apparent move to keep the Telangana people, especially the government employees, happy.
Dr Reddy was reportedly furious over the continuous delay in the implementation of GO 610. “Why there is so much delay in implementing a decision? Overcome all the hurdles immediately.
Delay under any circumstances will not be tolerated,” he reportedly said. He added,”We are determined to implement the GO in letter and spirit and will not allow the issue to be delayed. All repatriation orders have to be issued soon.” Dr Reddy also okayed the recruitment of 1000 local ex-servicemen on contract basis.
The panchayat raj minister, Mr J.C. Diwakar Reddy, said 17,648 employees have been identified who have violated GO 610. Repatriation orders have been issued to 8716 employees of whom 7019 have been relieved. So far, 4,635 people have joined. “Some employees have gone to courts and there are currently 2091 cases pending before the A P Administrative Tribunal.
Repatriation of 4573 employees would be ready within a week ,” he added.
Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy, the chairman of the house committee on GO 610, said the Chief Minister has asked officials to speed up the process.
