AP Plans Exclusive Industrial Estate For Women

Showing its resolve to empower women, the Andhra Pradesh government has earmarked an exclusive industrial estate with 30 acres land in Kalakal village in Medak district.
Christened as Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWA) Automotive Industrial Estate, carved out of APIIC’s automotive park, the foundation stone will be laid by state’s industry minister Geeta Reddy on Wednesday.
Speaking to media, COWA secretary P Soudhamini said that the park will have units like fabrication, automobile components, battery regeneration, automobile painting system heat treatments, plastic components besides packaging and printing.
The layout for the park is prepared by Murthy & Manyam, Architects, while APIIC will develop the park.
The State government has decided to reserve about 10% of the land in each of the industrial estate for the benefit of women entrepreneurs.
As of now COWA is about to take about 90 acres of land across the State in different parts of the industrial estates, including 30 acres at Karkapatla for development of biotech park.
