The Board of Management of GITAM University is planning to open its first state-of-art campus in Hyderabad from the academic year 2008-09 in Engineering and Management programmes initially and other courses in the future.
GITAM College of Management Studies Principal K Sivarama Krishna speaking to media here on Saturday said that GITAM had already applied some time ago to the University Grant Commission (UGC) seeking permission to open its new campus and he hoped that its request would be cleared soon.
At present, the University has six institutes in Engineering, Management, Sciences, International Business, Pharmacy and Medicine offering 150 programmes at UG and PG level with 8,500 students, he said.
As a launch-pad, the College of Management Studies held its first mega alumni meet here. About 350 alumni who are well placed in various organisations in and around Hyderabad attended the function.
