Sitafalmandi RoB to be completed by May

The Road over Bridge (RoB) at Sitafalmandi will, in all likelihood, be completed by May this year.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner GVSK Sarma informed this to MLAs Padma Rao, G Sayanna and Nayani Narasimha Reddy, under whose jurisdictions the RoB falls.
There has been an inordinate delay RoB construction work. Though launched six years ago, only 50 per cent of the construction work has been completed so far.
MLA Padma Rao raised the issue at the District Review Committee (DRC) meeting held today and told District Incharge Minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir that 10 persons, including some women, died in the mishaps due to the non-completion of the RoB.
The MLA further said that though the matter was taken to the notice of the authorities, the works have not picked pace.
Admitting to the delay, Sarma assured that the works would be completed by May. Seven of the 14 slabs that remain to be laid, would soon be laid as the legal wrangles that delayed the work had been overcome.
