A private university will come up at Rajapur village near Jadcherla in Mahaboobnagar district, set up by a charitable trust that runs educational institutions in and around Mumbai, Sri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal.
The Cabinet, at its meeting here on Thursday, resolved to allot 90 acres of land in the APIIC layout at the village to the trust for a price of Rs 1.5 lakh per acre. The Vile Parle Kelavani andal, which runs Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, will set up schools of business management, pharmacy and engineering, with a total intake of 1,570 students.
Information Minister A. Ramanarayan Reddy told reporters later that the trust, however, agreed to allot 25 per cent of the seats to those from the State but based on merit.
