Land value for registration may be revised from April 1

The Stamps & Registration Department has been identified by Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy as falling short by 10 per cent in achieving the revenue targets fixed for the fiscal 2007-08.
As a way out, the department officials have proposed to revise the land values for registration purpose for the next financial from April 1.
Resource mobilisation
At a meeting here on Friday on mobilisation of resources for the 2008-09 budget, the Chief Minister noted that the achievement by Commercial Taxes Department was up to 94.37 per cent, that of the Excise 94 per cent and the Transport Department 93.85 per cent.
