The Supreme Court has not dismissed the special leave petition filed by one K.S.B. Ali in the Kokapet lands case and as such the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority was not entitled to conduct any auction of lands, according to counsel for the petitioner.
As such, the status quo granted by the HC in writ petition 10084 stood valid, the counsel I.V.S. Rao told newsmen here on Sunday contradicting claims made by Huda. “Since the cases are pending disposal, the Huda cannot go ahead with the proposed auction of 100 acres of land at Kokapet on December 20. Otherwise, it amounts to contempt of court,” Mr Rao said. He contended that Huda was also not authorised to collect an amount of Rs 304 crore from successfully bidders for 81 acres of land.
