Court ‘no’ to work on Health City

Justice N.V.Ramana of the A.P. High Court on Monday directed the authorities to take steps to ensure that no constructions take place in the area alienated in favour of Health City, Vishakhapatnam.

These stay orders are applicable to lands in survey number 27 of Chinagadila village in the outskirts of the Vishakhapatnam city. The judge was dealing with a writ petition filed by Tulasi Rao, on behalf of the district Livestock Development Association. The petitioner contended that the lands belonging to diary farm had been given to private parties in the name of health city for corporate hospitals. He said the diary farm played important role in livestock development.

Construction stayed

The division bench of the A. P. High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Bilal Nazki and Justice Ramesh Ranga Nathan on Monday stayed construction in park next to Rajiv Gandhi statue, Ramakrishna beach, Vishakhpatnam, in the name of food courts.

The bench was dealing with writ petition filed by Ankita Welfare Association represented by Alisha and Ananda Rao of AITUC, district committee. The petitioners complained that the GVMC had issued orders alienating1435 square yards of land in the park. They said park area could not be converted into commercial purposes.
