Bus plan falls flat on Huda
Posted by Srini Uppala | December 10, 2007 | 256 views
Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (Huda) has failed to implement the much publicised bus terminus-cum-business centre project at old Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad. The state government planned the project in March 2006 and entrusted the task to Huda in order to decongest the areas around Secunderabad railway station.
As per the proposal, Rathifile bus stand and bus bays near Secunderabad railway station will be shifted to a new terminus as thousands of commuters are put to hardship daily due to the heavy traffic congestion. Huda proposed to build a minimum of 30 lakh-square-foot bus terminus cum business centre in which 10 lakh feet would be allotted for parking to 4,000 two wheelers and 1,200 four wheelers.
