HUDA to auction 100 more acres at Kokapet

The Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) will auction another 100 acres of land in Kokapet, near the Golden Mile Project, for its Calibre SEZ.
The HUDA will be auctioning four plots of 25 acres each in the Calibre SEZ project. The 100-acre plot was divided into four plots rather than offering the whole 100-acre plot as a single bid to attract more bidders, HUDA vice-chairman Jayesh Ranjan said. The up set price per acre would be Rs. 12 crore. The HUDA elicited lukewarm response to its earlier auction for the Pentagon project (105 acres) in September last.
Other projects
However, for its other proposed prestigious project - Medi City to come up in Ameenpur in Medak district in 200 acres, HUDA authorities have decided to depute an official in-charge of the project to study Dubai Health City project next week.
The decision to study Dubai Health City before proceeding with the Medi City project was taken in view of Chief Minister’s directive to develop it as the world class health city in the country, Mr. Ranjan said. The modalities for development of Medi City would be developed after studying the Dubai Health City project too.
Land would be allotted to medical institutions subject to certain conditions, commitments and performance requirements, Mr. Ranjan said.
Cooperation sought
HUDA has sought the cooperation of public in preventing unauthorised layout developments and non-agricultural activities in the catchment areas of Osaman Sagar and Himayath Sagar lakes.
The 84 villages covered under the catchment area of these two lakes are available on HUDA’s website www.hudahyd.org, according to a release.
Restrictions imposed
As the drinking water requirement of twin cities is drawn from these lakes, restrictions were imposed on various developments, constructions, layouts and non-agricultural activities in the catchment area, the release said. People could bring to HUDA’s notice any illegal construction activity in the specified area.
HUDA also advised people to check with HUDA and HADA for legal permissions before investing in any property within the catchment area.
