The state cabinet approved the setting up of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Kno-wledge Technologies with headquarters in Hyderabad. Its constituent units will be set up at Basar in Adilabad (Telangana), Nuzividu in Krishna district (Andhra) and Idupulapaya in Kadapa district (Rayalaseema). Its courses will start next year. Three eco-tourism projects — botanical gardens, night safari and bird park in Kothaguda reserved forests in Ranga Reddy district — were approved. The projects will be named after former chief minister Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy. Hyderabad-based De Lara Tourism Corporation Ltd will develop the botanical gardens on 128.97 acres at Rs 188.94 crore in four years.
