Manipal Health to invest Rs 200cr in Andhra

Bangalore-based Manipal Health Systems, is planning to invest about Rs 200 crore in Andhra Pradesh over the next two years to expand its healthcare network.
T Ramoji, vice-president (operations), Manipal Health Systems (MHS), said the company would implement the ‘Comprehensive Healthcare Network’ across the state, which will cost over Rs 200 crore depending on the land prices.
The company today opened its second hospital in the state at Visakhapatnan, which is a 100-bedded hospital, especially for women and children. MHS already operates a 350-bedded hospital at Vijayawada.
“We have also planned a 350-bedded hospital at Hyderabad, 250-bedded super specialty general hospital at Visakhapatnam, 350-bedded hospital in the Rayalaseema region, 12 centres of excellence, 35 high-quality clinics and
250-300 tele-medicine centres across the state as the part of the Comprehensive Healthcare Network,” he told the media.
The entire network project would be completed in 24 months.
At present, MHS runs 16 hospitals across the country with about 4,000 beds.
