All that a customer has to do is possess a GPRS cell phone and subscribe to BSNL cellular service. Called ‘mimobi.tv.’, the facility works on the existing 2.5 G network as well as the 3G networks. Users can watch 12 channels initially and will get the opportunity to watch up to 30 channels in future.

BSNL has tied up with Apalya Technologies to provide this facility to the customers. The subscribers will be able to watch both Live TV and On Demand Video. Initially the service is being offered free for one month. Later, they have to opt for various schemes to get the facility.

Customers can enjoy all channels by paying Rs 150 as monthly subscription. They can watch one channel for 30 days by opting Rs 50 per month scheme. Customers will be allowed to watch one channel for 24 hours by paying Rs 10.

mimobi.tv. uses fast track download and play to deliver the best possible viewing experience without compromising on the quality, said S. Ramalingam, chief general manager of BSNL AP circle and Vamshi Reddy, director of Apalya Technologies.
