Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, Hyderabad’s Hot Station, has reached the No. 1 position with nearly 27 lakh listeners to its credit as of February 2007.

A research commissioned by ENIL (Radio Mirchi) through IMRB shows that Radio Mirchi continues to lead in the ‘In-Car listenership’. The research shows indicates that Radio Mirchi has a reach of 27% that translates into a listenership share of 38% which is followed by S FM with a 20% reach that translates into a listenership share of 29%.

Kaushik Ghosh, National Marketing Head, Radio Mirchi said “In cities like Mumbai and New Delhi, the past few years have seen a good indicator of car track figures. And now it is Hyderabad following suit with its smashing programming format, hottest music and Star studded studio visits”. And as the jocks keep on saying for the moment, Radio Mirchi seems to really be ‘Chaala Hot Guru!’

Researchers stand at the 10 busiest intersections of Hyderabad. When cars stop, they ask the car owner (either driving or chauffeured) whether FM radio was present in the car, whether it was tuned on, what was the Channel he/ she listened to, what Channel was on and what was the frequency. The researchers also physically verified the facts. A sample size of 240 was used. The research was conducted in morning (8:30 – 10:30) and evening (6:30 – 8:30). The research was commissioned by ENIL (Radio Mirchi) and conducted by IMRB on 22nd June 2007.
